National Ag Day Set for March 16, 2027

“Agriculture: Together We Grow” Celebrates the People, Partnerships and Progress of American Agriculture

LEAWOOD, Kan. (October 28, 2026) — The Agriculture Council of America (ACA) has announced that National Agriculture Day will be celebrated on March 16, 2027, with the theme “Agriculture: Together We Grow.”

The theme recognizes the collective efforts of farmers, ranchers, agricultural businesses, educators, researchers and communities working together to feed, fuel and clothe the world. It also highlights the innovation, collaboration and dedication that continue to move American agriculture forward.

National Ag Day activities will include events in Washington, D.C., bringing together agricultural leaders, students and representatives from national farm and commodity organizations, as well as the food, fuel and fiber industries. A core leadership team of college students will participate in activities designed to build awareness of agriculture's importance and encourage the next generation of agricultural advocates.

"National Ag Day is in it's 54th year and it is an opportunity to remind Americans that agriculture touches every part of our lives," said Jennifer Pickett, ACA President. "From the food on our tables to the fuel in our vehicles and the clothes we wear, agriculture is essential."

Student involvement continues to be a key component of National Ag Day. Young people representing agricultural organizations and educational programs will have opportunities to engage with industry leaders, share their perspectives and learn more about the wide range of careers available in agriculture.

The National Ag Day program encourages every American to:

  • Understand how food, fiber and fuel products are produced.
  • Appreciate the role agriculture plays in providing safe, abundant and affordable products.
  • Value the essential role of agriculture in maintaining a strong economy.
  • Acknowledge and consider career opportunities in agriculture, food and fiber industries.

In addition to the March 16 events, National Ag Day will feature its annual Video Essay Contest for high school students. The 2027 contest theme, "How Will Technology Help Agriculture Strengthen Rural America?", encourages students to explore how innovation can create opportunities for farmers, ranchers and rural communities.

Sponsorship opportunities for National Ag Day 2027 are available. Organizations and individuals interested in supporting the celebration and helping share agriculture's story are encouraged to visit www.agday.org for additional information.
